Congrats to the Kiwis who came back from a devastating loss to Oracle Team USA at San Francisco in the 34th America's Cup.

Nathan Outteridge on key differences between Challenger and Defender

Video above published Jun 26, 2017: Artemis Racing skipper Nathan Outteridge speaks to the differences between '17' and 'Aotearoa', ORACLE TEAM USA and Emirates Team New Zealand's America's Cup Class yachts. Key differences include foil shape, control systems and the most obvious being the Kiwi's use of innovative pedal-powered bicycles rather than traditional pedestal grinders. These differences proved pivotal.

June 25, 2017 UPDATE:  Emirates Team NZ won both races Sunday, sailing faster and making fewer mistakes than its rival Oracle Team USA. Emirates Team New Zealand now leads 6-1 and only needs one more win on Monday to win the America's Cup!

24th June: Race Round-Up

Jun 24, 2017: The third day of the America's Cup Match presented by Louis Vuitton saw drama on the water. The Kiwi's took the first race, but ORACLE TEAM USA came charging back to win the second.

June 24, 2017: Emirates Team NZ leads 4-1 having won the first race Saturday, and losing to Oracle Team USA for the first time in the second race of the day. Racing will continue Sunday and go into Monday due to USA's win today.

17-18 June (first weekend) Racing Round-Up:

June 17-18: Emirates Team New Zealand won races 1, 2, 3, & 4, in dominating fashion, sailing faster and closer to the wind (pointing higher upwind), and leads 3-0. Races continue Saturday, June 24.

UPDATE June 18: Emirates Team New Zealand won races 3 & 4 in dominating fashion, sailing faster and closer to the wind (pointing higher upwind), and leads 3-0. With the next races on Saturday, June 24, Oracle Team USA has five days to figure out how to match and exceed Emirates Team NZ, or this will all end as an 8-race series on Sunday, June 25th. Forecasts for next weekend call for winds similar to today (June 18).

Jun 10, 2017: Incredibly close racing between Artemis Racing and Emirates Team New Zealand on the first day of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Challenger Playoffs Final in Bermuda. Advantage goes to the Kiwis, but if skipper Nathan Outteridge hadn't gone for a swim in the final race the outcome could have been very different.

Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs, Saturday June 10, 2017: Man overboard! Nathan Outteridge, the skipper of Artemis Racing, slid off the back of the Swedish challenger Artemis Racing at a critical point in the third race of the day, handing the lead to Peter Burling’s Emirates Team New Zealand squad on day one of the finals.
9th June: 35th America's Cup Race Round-Up

Jun 9, 2017: There was only one race on the final day of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Challenger Playoffs Semi-finals with Artemis Racing taking the win over SoftBank Team Japan. The two teams were so evenly matched that it made for a thrilling series, but it means the end of the road for SoftBank Team Japan. The Swedes will now advance to face Emirates Team New Zealand in the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Challenger Playoffs Semi-finals.

Video above published Nov 19, 2016: With just one more day of racing left in the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series, the overall series lead remains up for grabs.

On Saturday, ORACLE TEAM USA posted improving results over the course of the afternoon, with a 4, 2, 1 scoreline, leaving the defending America's Cup champion just one point off the lead.

"I think we have to come out tomorrow and go as hard as we can. It's so difficult to push one boat back but if there are any opportunities we'll take them."

Toulon Race Day 2: Artemis takes the win  @LVACWSToulon | 35th America's Cup: "Late summer sunshine greeted the thousands of spectators who made it out in force to Toulon for Super Sunday at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Toulon, and it is Artemis Racing who leave France celebrating after taking the regatta honours. The Swedish challenger followed up an incredibly strong showing on Saturday, with a strong enough showing on Sunday, to celebrate another weekend victory in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series."

The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series uses a high-point scoring system. The winner of each race scores 10 points, second place earns 9 points, third place collects 8 points, and so on. On Sunday, point scoring is doubled: 1st = 20 points; 2nd = 18 points; 3rd = 16 points, etc. The overall results reflect the total points scored across all races at all events to date.

The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series is the first stage of competition in the 2017 America’s Cup and began in the summer of 2016. Overall ranking position in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series determines the starting points score of the teams in the America's Cup Qualifiers in 2017.

In just one year, on May 26, 2017, the first races of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. (Published May 26, 2016)

Next year all six America’s Cup teams will race in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Qualifiers, in new America’s Cup Class foiling catamarans, purpose-built for the racing in 2017. Qualifiers are scheduled to take place on Bermuda’s Great Sound.. If the defending champion, ORACLE TEAM USA, wins the opening series, it will earn a one-point lead in the America’s Cup Match series. If the winning team is a challenger, and they end up in the Match, they will have the advantage on the scoreboard.

Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series, Chicago, June 10-12, Video

Over 200,000 fans crowded Chicago’s Navy Pier over the weekend to cheer on ORACLE TEAM USA and share the America’s Cup experience, which featured foiling, flying catamarans, racing at a freshwater venue for the first time. Artemis Racing won the event, with Land Rover BAR in second place and SoftBank Team Japan taking two race wins for its first podium position. ORACLE TEAM USA finished fifth. Published June 12, 2016

The America's Cup World Series Chicago got off to a flying start - quite literally - with some great foiling action on Lake Michigan during practice day. Gusty winds and flat waters equals the perfect conditions for racing. Published June 11, 2016

Land Rover BAR set sail for the Windy City:

The Land Rover BAR team has landed in the 'Windy City' for the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Chicago. This will be the first time the team has raced on a body of fresh water. The challengers are competing for a chance to take on Oracle Team USA in the America's Cup finals, a match race scheduled for June 2017 on the Great Sound of Bermuda.
