GC32 Riva Cup, Riva del Garda, Italy, Sep 11-15 (video)

Day 4 Highlights GC32 Riva Cup - Alinghi claims GC32 Riva Cup by a whisker

Sep 15: While Alinghi has led at the end of every day of racing at the 2019 GC32 Riva Cup, the Swiss team was on the ropes this afternoon when their arch-rivals Oman Air, in seemingly unbeatable form, scored three back-to-back wins levelling the scoreline with them. Find out how the Swiss team sealed the deal in the final race of the day.

Day 3 Highlights GC32 Riva Cup - Alinghi clings on to narrow lead going into GC32 Riva Cup finale:

GC32 Racing Tour Sep 14, 2019: Both Alinghi and Oman Air had difficult moments. The Swiss GC32 World Champions were off form in today’s first two races, leaving them trailing Oman Air by two points. However showing their typical relentlessness, Alinghi won the next three races.

Day 2 GC32 Riva Cup - Oman Air fights back

Sep 13: Lago di Garda was not making it easy for race officials on day two of the GC32 Riva Cup, the penultimate event of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour. The afternoon southerly Ora wind was late materialising and required three changes of race course and a frustrating two hour wait before the wind finally blasted in at 15+ knots some four kilometres south of Riva del Garda.

After this three races with reaching starts were eventually held, the wind progressively dropping off as the afternoon wore on and holes in the race course began to appear close to the leeward gate and the boats were returned to the Fraglia Vela Riva marina. “Friday 13th” they muttered by way of explanation, but in Italy 13 is not unlucky.

Day 1 GC32 Riva Cup - Early lead for Alinghi at GC32 Riva Cup

Sep 12: In today’s five races, all held in the southerly Ora wind of 8 to 13 knots, the immaculate Swiss team never finished a race deeper than third and ended the day four points ahead of second-placed Red Bull Sailing Team.

GC32 Riva Cup, Riva del Garda, Italy, Sep 11-15 Racing out of the Fraglia Vela Riva from Thursday to Sunday, with a scheduled start time of 1300 local time each day.

Venue: Lake Garda. Here the foiling catamarans will again be hosted by Fraglia Vela Riva at the lake’s northern end. The GC32 Riva Cup will take place mid-September rather than its usual beginning of season slot. At this time of year the temperature is warmer and the northerly PĂ©ler wind more dominant. Event Results.

Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2018 - Precision Marks Out the Winners

Rolex World of Yachting video above published Sep 8, 2018: The 2018 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup ended in traditional fashion with the final prize giving on the Piazza Azzurra in front of the Yacht Costa Smeralda. The week of racing on the waters of the Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena Archipelago, provided excellent competition for the 41 competing yachts. GC32 Racing Tour 2016 / GC32 One Design Class

GC32 RIVA CUP - 26–29 May | Riva del Garda, Lake Garda, Italy:

The 2016 GC32 Racing Tour opens with two regattas on Lake Garda. This Italian lake is considered one of the world’s must-visit regatta venues. Not only is it stunningly beautiful, with its northern end nestled within the Alps, surrounded by giant mountains, but it is renowned for offering exceptional wind conditions and flat water.

The first regatta will be held out of Fraglia Vela Riva located in Riva del Garda, in the lake’s northernmost corner. The club is a favourite championship venue, especially with dinghy and Olympic classes and last year alone hosted World Championships for the Cadet, Topper and Musto Performance Skiff classes.
