America's Cup: what now?

ORACLE TEAM USA (April 2013) commence sailing trials on their new AC72. All systems were go, and "17" quickly took to flight during her maiden voyage on San Francisco Bay

In the wake of the death of Andrew "Bart" Simpson, and the earlier capsize (and destruction) of Oracle Team's first AC72, what is clear is that the AC72 is an over-powered catamaran capable of capsizing with devastating consequences. Where we go from here, is far from clear. Should plans for using the AC72 even continue? More will be revealed in coming weeks.

It's unclear if Artemis will compete, as planned, now that one of its two boats has been destroyed."
