Sailing with jury rig in the MiniTransat 2013 ( I dismasted on 16th Nov / 200nm from Morocco coast.) 
I only had 2,5 meter mast, so I could use my storm jib and some main sail...

New Partnership to Promote Sailing Worldwide 
"The American Sailing Association (ASA) and Hobie Cat® Company have launched a worldwide partnership, the goal of which is to attract a new and enthusiastic wave of sailors into the sport. Hobie has partnered with ASA for this project to grow the sport of sailing. The catalyst will be the global excitement for sailing generated by ORACLE TEAM USA’s spectacular come-from-behind America’s Cup victory, a targeted sailing education program developed by ASA, and a special edition Hobie catamaran. The “concept boat” for this endeavor, with its distinctive black hulls and logoed sail, is at The Paris Boat Show (Dec. 6-15) in the Hobie booth as the flagship of this project...."

America's Cup put San Francisco $5.5 million in the red - SFGate: "San Francisco is still in the red from hosting the 34th America's Cup, which so far has cost taxpayers at least $5.5 million, according to draft financial figures from the regatta that The Chronicle reviewed Monday. That spending, though, allowed the city to host an event that drew hundreds of thousands of people to the waterfront over roughly three months of sailing and generated at least $364 million in total economic impact, draft figures from the Bay Area Council Economic Institute reveal. That figure rises to more than $550 million if the long-planned construction of a new cruise ship terminal, which the regatta served as a catalyst to finally get built, is factored in...."

World Yacht Racing Forum and Design & Technology Symposium "Over 200 delegates and more than 50 speakers are heading to Gothenburg for the sixth edition of the annual World Yacht Racing Forum, co-located with the Yacht Racing Design & Technology Symposium. The two conferences have again attracted leading figures, experts and sailing personalities from all over the world. The event will start on Tuesday 10th December with presentations and sessions focusing on the future of the sport, yacht racing sponsorship – brand activation, promotion of the sport, pitch, revenue streams and much more. Running parallel to the Forum, the Yacht Racing Design & Technology Symposium will focus on the latest developments issued form the America’s Cup, foils and flying boats, rigid sails and new materials. The Symposium brings an important technical counterpoint to the commercial discussions that occur in the Forum."
