North Sails Collection | Chapter III - "The hope" (video)

North Sails Collection | Chapter III - "The hope"

North Sails video above originally published Nov 12, 2018:
We’ve entitled this trip “To The Oceans.” It has allowed us to discover the problem of plastic in the oceans accompanied by Sam Potter, experience the awakening of ecological awareness with Simon Nessman and now, with Joana Schenker, we would like to wind up with an ode to nature, to our oceans.
We traveled all the way with her through an evocative and poetic journey through the glaciers of Iceland, a wild place of unusual beauty that reminds us that our planet is alive…. A place where time seems to stop, where you can only hear the sound of Nature. Blue, green, black, immense skies, textures and shapes of this wonderful place unravel in front of your eyes as if they were there, just waiting for you.
It was 17 years ago that Joana decided to make bodyboarding a priority in her life and she doesn’t regret it. The sea has taught her more than she expected. Joana is the a Bodyboard World Champion, and has previously earned four European championship titles, making her one of the most successful athletes of all times.
Once there, she realized that the ocean had taught her much more than what she expected from it. The ocean is not silent, we need to listen. The ocean needs our help, protecting it, is to protect ourselves. All together we can do it!

The 'San Diego Plan' to host the 35th America's Cup
Scuttlebutt Sailing News: "The venue search for the 35th America’s Cup has narrowed the finalists to Bermuda, Chicago and San Diego. The leader among the venues appears to be San Diego, which has both consistent weather and event experience. The plan is for the racing to be held inside San Diego Bay. “San Diego clicks a lot of boxes,” remarked defense CEO Russell Coutts. “The boats might be maneuvering every minute and a half. It would be a highly technical course in the AC 62 and would lay out quite well for spectators and sponsor fulfillment.”..."

A regatta with deep roots | Star Tribune"... Evans, of Orono, is participating in the Jaguar Land Rover A-Scow National Championship this weekend at Lake Minnetonka. It runs from June 20 to 22, with several races between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. The National Class A Scow Association puts on the yacht race, which is in its ninth year, according to Tim Browne, a spokesman for the event. He expects to see around 25 teams, mostly from Minnesota and Wisconsin, he said. A-Scow boats are primarily found in the Midwest because of their historical roots, and because they’re best suited for protected waterways, such as lakes, he said. The regatta moves around the region each year. It was last held on Lake Minnetonka in 2007. Browne said it’s a fitting spot given that the Minnetonka Yacht Club, the host, has a history that goes back 132 years in Deephaven and a reputation for producing top-notch sailors, including many who have won prestigious titles around the world...."
