North Korea seizes Russian sailing yacht with crew in neutral waters | RT News: "Sportsmen aboard the Elfin yacht were returning to Vladivostok from an international regatta in the South Korean port of Busan, when it was waylaid by what had appeared to be a fishing boat sailing under the North Korean flag ... According to [Russian consul general] Khromchenko, the captain of the Elfin is an experienced sailor and was guiding his vessel within the allowed lane. Captain Nazarov has passed the same route “dozens of times,” Khromchenko said, noting that this is not the first incident of its kind. “They will be detained for two-three days,” he said, adding that the North Koreans act unlawfully, “like pirates,” trying to extort money. They usually damage yachts in the process."

The combination of a localised pressure system, a resulting thunderstorm, variable winds, a possible three-race-day, and a tight gap between the teams at the top made the last day of the regatta somewhat of a mystery. Quantum Racing took the glory with Alegre and Platoon hot on their heels going into Porto Cervo for the 2016 Audi Settimana delle Bocche. Racing starts again on 28th June 2016. The first points of the 2016 52 SUPER SERIES season will be won in Scarlino, Tuscany on Wednesday 25th May 2016.

Quantum Racing have had an emphatic start to 2016, but reigning champions Azzurra won’t be so quick to roll over. Eleven TP52 crews have entered to compete in Scarlino representing eight different nations, Italy, USA, GBR, France, Turkey, Sweden, Germany and Russia.
