The catamaran flipped over near the Golden Gate Bridge, resulting in extensive damage, last October. The biggest, most apparent feature of the relaunched boat is a brand new wing sail built at Core Builders Composites in Warkworth, New Zealand"
Biscay Finale for the Fabulous Fifties Le Cam and Golding - Vendée Globe 2012-2013: " . . . Le Cam, leading his English rival now by 65 miles on what should be his final afternoon at sea on this race, with 308 miles to the finish reported that conditions were hard for SynerCiel. “I have gusts of 35-40kts and I am not yet in the worst of it. After all that I have been through in this Vendée Globe we don’t deserve this at the end.” Jean Le Cam said, “I’d like to slow down a bit because of the conditions but I really can’t because of Mike. And I can’t push too hard. I have to make sure of this fifth place. I will not be sleeping before the finish line tomorrow.” Golding, who is on course to become the first sailor to ever finish three Vendée Globe races, is having to throttle back occasionally to deal with the increased flow of water in through the keel box of Gamesa. . . ."

Sailing-Portugal bans Olympic windsurfer over secret pregnancy - Olympic sports- NBC Sports: "Portugal's Olympic committee has banned a female windsurfer for life for concealing she was pregnant but attending the London Games anyway to see her husband. Carolina Borges travelled to Britain as part of the Portugal team but then sent an email during the Games in July saying she was quitting before her RS-X event had even started. "The Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth accepted our recommendation and has forbidden the athlete from ever representing Portugal again," Olympic committee head Vicente Moura told Lusa news agency on Tuesday. Brazil-born Borges represented Brazil at the Athens Olympics in 2004 but later joined Portugal's squad. "It all points to the fact that she took advantage of the trip to the Olympics to be with her husband," Moura added. Borges is married to U.S. sailor Mark Mendelblatt, who competed in London in the Star class in the sailing regatta off the south coast of England. . . ."
