Bertrand de Broc: "I am very happy" - Vendée Globe 2012-2013: "On January 21 , at one of my friend birthday party, someone gave me the idea of Votre Nom autour du Monde and I bought Brit'Air. I announced to the press I was going for the Vendée on January 23. I do not know how it happened but we had meetings in all directions and here we are."

Sail-World.com : Youth America's Cup Selection Series - Massive expectations: "The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Selection Series provided on the first day an illustration of the massive expectations on the youth teams who have congregated in San Francisco for a shot at advancing to September’s regatta. The teams were put through their paces on shore by Sports Directors Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher, where the physical demands of sailing an AC45 wing sail catamaran were made clear through an exhausting fitness evaluation. . . America's Cup could cost S.F. millions - SFGate: "With the 55 days of steroidal sailing just six months away, fundraising efforts to cover the estimated $31 million to $34 million cost for police, cleanup, transportation and other expenses have pretty much hit the wall at $14 million. Originally pitched as a competition between as many as 12 international teams, the race is now down to three entries. The shrinking size of the event has helped reduce costs, but it also substantially cut into corporate interest in sponsorships, which city officials originally thought would bring in $300 million."

Sail-World.com : Marinassess Women’s Match Racing Regatta 2013 - Almost flawless: "The Marinassess Women’s Match Racing Regatta came to a fantastic end with Kathleen Stroinovsky and her crew of Lucinda Whitty, Samantha Boyd and Kate Brown, representing the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, winning the title in convincing fashion – losing just one match in the two day regatta. The regatta, hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia Youth Sailing Academy, is sponsored by leading marine insurer Marinassess, and is sailed on the Elliott 6.0m boats with the winner being determined after the completion of two round robins. . . . For Lucinda Whitty, the London 2012 silver medallist in Women’s Match racing, this regatta was fun. 'I've really enjoyed this regatta – it’s been sailed in really good spirits. It has been great to see the other girls enjoying match racing and keeping the class alive. .  . . "

Coast Guard Foundation Cup sailing race coming in April to Annapolis - baltimoresun.com: "Two years ago, the foundation changed course by looking at an event that seemed more in line with its mission and founded the Coast Guard Foundation Cup, an overnight race that served as a feeder distance race for the biennial Bermuda Race from Newport, R.I., to the British territory. The inaugural race attracted 18 boats to Annapolis. This year's event, again managed by the Annapolis Yacht Club and sanctioned by the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association, will be held April 27-28. The start and finish will be in Annapolis harbor."
