America's Cup World Series lifts Oracle Spithill

America's Cup World Series: Super race lifts Oracle Spithill | ScrippsNews: "After winning the fleet racing title in August by a single point, he took this week's trophy by rallying from last place at the first mark to win the Super Sunday race and rake in the 40 points that the seventh race provides in the regatta standings. He and Ben Ainslie, on J.P. Morgan BAR, each finished with 79 points, but Spithill got the title because of a higher finish in the final race. Ainslie took fourth, 20 seconds out of the third-place finish he needed to take the trophy. As usual, Spithill praised his crew, which had won the match racing title on Saturday: tactician John Kostecki, Dirk de Ridder, Joey Newton and Jono MacBeth. "Our guys fought the whole way," he said. "The tone on board was the same whether we were leading the race or behind." Ainslie had a much more consistent regatta, finishing 1-3-1-2-4-1-4, and Spithill received no points in race 5 because of his capsize on Saturday, going 8-1-6-5-0-2-1."
