America's Cup Winner Wary of Sir Robin In Sydney Hobart Race (video)

Americas Cup Winner Wary of Sir Robin In Sydney Hobart

Clipper Round the World Yacht Race video published Dec 4, 2017: Clipper Ventures will be proudly supporting the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 in the 73rd Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, with two Clipper 68s to be crewed by British and Australian veterans and personnel. Even though Sir Robin Knox-Johnston will be on board the UK Invictus Games Sydney 2018 GAME ON boat, two-time Americas Cup winner and Team Oracle Skipper James Spithill is still backing the Aussies.

In addition to the eleven Clipper 70s racing to Hobart as part of the 40,000 nautical mile Clipper 2017-18 Race, the two Clipper 68s will also take part in the iconic Bluewater Classic, starting on Boxing Day in Sydney. Invictus Games Sydney 2018 GAME ON (CV10) will be crewed by British wounded, injured and ill veterans, in addition to Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, and will take on the Australian crewed Invictus Games Sydney 2018 DOWN UNDER (CV5), in what’s tipped to be an ‘Ashes on the Water’.

The 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race marks the 73rd edition of this time-honoured tradition. Over 100 yachts, including 30 overseas entries, are expected to cross the start line at 13:00 AEDT on 26 December 2017 (Dec 25th at 9pm EST in U.S.). Everything is in place for another exceptional chapter in the history of this classic race.
